We are thrilled to announce Field + Fire, Palmetto Bluff’s first-ever sporting weekend with curated events and personalities that celebrate the best in field sports. This is set to be the ultimate sportman’s weekend beginning on Friday, January 19th, and wrapping up on Sunday, January 21st.

As the social hub of Field + Fire, the Field + Fire Market is a collection of Southern artisans and makers offering sporting apparel, art and jewelry, expert callers, specialty outdoor hear and high-end shotguns and saddles. We’ll marry the market with well-known sporting personalities and some of the Bluff’s favorite food traditions with live music. The market will take place in the River House on Friday and Saturday, January 19th and 20th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again on Sunday, January 21st, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Friday, we will also host the Up Close and Personal Pointer Exhibition, Fly Casting Lesson and Birds of Prey Exhibition. The Buffalo Blast Sporting Clays Tournament is back and followed up with the Buffalo Blast Beer ‘n Brats dinner. Shooters and non-shooters alike are welcome at this casual event celebrating the Palmetto Buff Conservancy and its mission of preserving and protecting the natural and historical gems of the Lowcountry.

A Falconry Expedition, Pointers and Retrievers Exhibition, Fly Casting Lessons and an Art of the Bow Talk and Exhibition will take place on Saturday. You won’t want to miss Jay Walea at Talkin’ to the Animals where Jay and his team will demonstrate some of their tricks to calling in game animals, from ducks to turkey to bucks. Then it’s the ladies turn at the Shooting Club for “First Date” Ladies’ Shooting School, an event tailored just for women who are new to the world of sporting clays or interested in trying it out for the first time. We’re warning you now- you’re likely to get hooked.

A Bourbon and Birds Dinner will be hosted on Saturday evening as well. This elegant five-course paired game and bourbon (and wine) dinner will be a one-of-a-kind al fresco experience. It’s one field dinner you won’t want to miss.

On Sunday, we wrap up the weekend with another opportunity to experience the Falconry Expedition with handler Steve Hein, who, along with this trained dogs and falcon, will hunt pheasant. The Agility Dogs Exhibition will also be available on Sunday along with the Field + Fire Market.
