Join us for a week of ice cream fun with Cindy and Dale Eade of Southern Craft Creamery, the 2013 overall winner of the Garden & Gun Made in the South awards. Starting today, August 7th until Saturday, August 12th, the Eade’s will be serving up some of the most delicious treats this side of the Mississippi. Southern Craft Creamery is a Florida-based ice cream company that specializes in handcrafted ice cream in a variety of flavors. This fresh-churned treat uses local ingredients like tupelo honey and strawberries to make their flavors fresh and unique.
Starting Tuesday, the Eade’s will be hosting Gallery Hours at the Artist Cottage from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to swing by and meet Cindy and Dale, learn more about their ice cream and have a taste (or two).
On Friday, Cindy and Dale will be hosting the Brown Bag Lunch: From Farm to Icebox. Unique in their commitment to signing a light on the offerings of their region and the people that make them possible, Southern Craft Creamery is a one of a kind type of ice cream maker. At this Brown Bag Lunch, Cindy and Dale will be joined by Garden & Gun editor CJ Lotz and Montage Palmetto Bluff pastry chef David Sampson to give the scoop on creating handcrafted ice cream from start to finish using milk from their farm and as many local and seasonal ingredients as possible.
On Saturday, Cindy and Dale will wrap up their visit with a hands-on opportunity to Find Your Flavor. When creating a Southern Craft Creamery flavor, the goal is to create something simple, unique and interesting. While it should highlight the ingredients used, it doesn’t need to be overpowering. That’s the trick and you’ll have a chance to try it here. On this afternoon, guests will spend their time developing taste, texture and flavor using seasonal ingredients.
We look forward to seeing you there!
