Each year, the Emily Geiger Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution honor one women for her contribution to the community with the Women in American History Award. This year, our very own Dr. Mary Socci received this award for her continuous commitment to the history of the Lowcountry. As our archaeologist, Dr. Socci studies artifacts that reveal the fascinating details about previous occupants of the land. These artifacts are on display at the in the Reading Room in Moreland Village, with some dating back 12,000 years. Be sure to stop by the Reading Room, learn more about the history of Palmetto Bluff and join us in congratulating Dr. Socci on this honor.
